New perspectives in partnership
with Pallant House Gallery
At Sofas & Stuff, we’ve long admired Pallant House Gallery - an art gallery dedicated to sharing the story of British art from 1900 to the present. In this short film, gallery Director Simon Martin reflects on how the building, the stories, and the spirit of the gallery shape the way we see.
Rooted in creativity and community
Our connection to Pallant House Gallery is longstanding and deeply personal. As a business founded in West Sussex, we’re proud to support an creative organisation that contributes so richly to the cultural life of the region, and beyond. Through this partnership, we stand behind the belief that creativity belongs to everyone - and should be nurtured in every community.

A setting that shapes the art
Pallant House Gallery is home to one of the UK’s most significant collections of modern British art. But beyond that, its distinctive setting - a Queen Anne townhouse paired with a 21st century extension - shapes how art is experienced. Moving between light-filled open spaces and intimate panelled rooms, you encounter the collection in unexpected and dynamic ways. The architecture becomes part of the conversation.
A place for new perspectives
Every visitor sees something different - and that’s what makes Pallant House Gallery so compelling. It’s a place that values individual viewpoints and invites you to look more closely: at context, intention, and the stories behind each artwork. This thoughtful, questioning approach - asking not only who made it, but why, when, and how - opens up new ways of seeing, and reminds us that there’s always more beneath the surface.

Creativity for everyone
We support Pallant House Gallery not just for its outstanding collection, but for its commitment to making creativity part of everyday life. From exhibitions and individual moments of quiet, to school visits and community programmes, the gallery invites people of all ages and backgrounds to engage with art on their own terms. It reminds us that creativity isn’t reserved for a few - it’s something we all have access to.
